The percent decrease formula
Percent decrease is calculated as ((original − new) ÷ original) × 100. For example, a drop from 200 to 150 is ((200 − 150) ÷ 200) × 100 = 25%.
If the new value is larger than the original, the formula produces a negative result, indicating an increase rather than a decrease.
