How cubic feet are calculated
Cubic feet measure three-dimensional space. To calculate cubic feet, multiply the length, width, and height of the space together, with all measurements expressed in feet. If measurements are given in inches, divide each by 12 before multiplying.
The result tells you how much material, air, or liquid the space can hold. Conversions to cubic yards, cubic metres, and litres let you compare the result with product packaging and material-order quantities.
Cubic feet = Length (ft) x Width (ft) x Height (ft)
Multiply all three dimensions in feet to get the volume in cubic feet.
